FCT Mobility Incoming Programme A comparative analysis between Brazil and Portugal, focusing on the formation of policies and practices for childcare in the first half of the 20th century, with emphasis on infant feeding as a strategy for care and health intervention. It is based on the hypothesis that, in both contexts, maternal and child care was used as a field of philanthropic, state, and scientifically legitimized action, marked by the circulation of knowledge and medical practice in the Luso-Brazilian Atlantic space.
