Title
The Theory of History and New Interdisciplinary Possibilities: A Dialogue with Musical Concepts
Abstract
The project proposes to investigate and reflect - within the scope of the Theory of History - on the interdisciplinary possibilities that can be established between the field of Music and the field of History, particularly through the use of the conceptual system of music to enrich the field of historiography. Thus, it is postulated that historiography, with its diversity of problems, can benefit from the use of concepts such as 'polyphony', 'chord', 'dissonance', 'consonance', 'rhythm', 'harmony'. The project invests in a line of research that applies the conceptual vocabulary of music to diverse historiographical questions, such as the uses of historical time, the complex understanding of alterities, the complex formation of theoretical identities in intellectual history, the presence of internal voices in so-called 'dialogical sources', the analysis of geographical landscapes, and other aspects.
