Strategic Framework
The equipment to be acquired will reinforce the strategic objectives outlined by this R&D unit for 2025-2029, addressing the breadth of pursued applications and consolidating of fundamental and applied research expressed in the domains of: i) Studies on Territory and Landscape; ii) Research and Application of Technologies; iii) Intersection of Perspectives on Heritage and Society.
By addressing analytical and data processing aspects to support the development of critical thinking and future projections, particularly through the innovation of materials, products, and intervention processes, the equipment will allow to: i) digitize documentation and survey processes at the different working scales at which the unit operate; ii) process and share data in line with updated registration, archiving, and dissemination protocols; iii) enhance installed laboratory capacity, namely in the development of construction and heritage technologies and their transfer to the productive and service sectors.
The requested equipment is grouped into three broad categories that converge with the established axes: i) digitization of survey, reconnaissance, and analysis processes; ii) graphical data processing and enabling its sharing; iii) analysis, diagnosis, and development of materials and technologies applied to industry and services, especially those related to heritage and construction.
Also noteworthy, in relation to the intersection with the framework outlined for 2025-2029, is the opportunity to strengthen the team internationalization and partnerships, identified throught the justification attached to each one of the various equipments, matching the expansion of installed laboratory capacity to competitive and disruptive challenges at the national and international levels.
