2025 - Extreme sites: operational bibliography for research in artistic and spatial practices
“Extreme Sites: An Operational Bibliography for Research in Artistic and Spatial Practices” is a publication that brings together essays by twelve researchers from different institutions and disciplinary fields, sharing titles that are crucial for research dedicated to individual case studies.
The book’s objective is to present the invisible network that gives substance and voice to the Extreme Sites project, based on the references that inform the research of each of its members.
As an introduction to the essays, we propose mapping the conceptual network that underpins this publication, identifying authors, titles, operational concepts, and territories investigated. This exercise aims to highlight the cross-cutting concerns that permeate the various case studies and that focus on places marked by extreme conditions. The Map of Places and Concepts results from a selection of terms extracted from the essays and descriptions of the cases presented, serving as an initial cartography of the thinking that structures the project. Subsequently, in the form of an unedited list, the broad set of these terms is compiled.
