Interest in themes that fall within the domain of health history has been growing in recent years, particularly at the turn of the 21st century, to which recent epidemics may have contributed. At the present time, this interest, materialized in countless publications, debates and conferences, is not limited to history or academia, but can also be seen in ordinary citizens, whose daily lives have been and, to a certain extent, continue to be affected, in in different ways, due to the effects of the covid-19 pandemic, which at the time we publish this book, in 2022, has not yet been overcome.
