The STREET research project team (FCT exploratory project) will hold a Workshop together with the project consultants, presenting the partial results of the development of the street transformation evaluation tool, based on sustainability indicators, and its application in the pilot case study: Av. da República (Lisbon).

In addition to the discussion sessions, study visits will be made to Rua de Francos and Parque das Hortas, both interventions promoted by the Guimarães City Council.

RESULTS:

On January 16, 2026, the STREET Workshop was held, with the aim of sharing the partial results of the STREET research project (PEX FCT), especially the development of a street transformation assessment tool based on sustainability indicators.

The session included presentations by the project team — Professor Ivo Oliveira (EAAD/Lab2PT/IN2PAST), Daniel Casas-Valle (Urban Dynamics/UPorto) and Marcela Percú (Lab2PT/IN2PAST/UMinho) — and interventions by consultants from different areas. The program also included a study visit to the requalification of Parque das Hortas (2016), guided by Architect Clara Castro, from the Guimarães City Council, an intervention that converted a degraded area into a public green space, connecting the historic center to the city park through accessible, resilient and environmentally qualified public spaces.
