Lab2PT – Laboratory of Landscapes, Territory and Heritage welcomes applications as a host institution for the FCT – 2026 Doctoral Scholarship Competition, General Application Line and Specific Application Line in Non-Academic Environment, open between March 2 – 31, 2026.
The FCT – 2026 Doctoral Research Scholarships are intended for candidates enrolled, or who meet the necessary conditions to enroll, in a cycle of studies leading to the obtaining of the academic degree of doctor and who intend to develop research activities leading to obtaining this degree.
Lab2PT is an R&D unit at the University of Minho that includes researchers from the School of Architecture, Art and Design and the Institute of Social Sciences. Its lines of research integrate the areas of Arts and Humanities, covering Architecture, Urbanism, History, Archeology, Design, Visual Arts, Geography and Geology. Its guiding principle is the convergence of knowledge in order to establish its prominence in the fields of Landscape, Territory, Heritage, Society, Technology and Representation. The breadth, variety and transdisciplinary scientific nature of Lab2PT is revealed through its 3 research groups, organized according to UD’s identity principles and its specific objectives: LandS/Landscapes and Societies; DeTech/Project and Technology; SpaceR/Space and Representation.
Candidates who wish to have Lab2PT as a host institution must submit an application proposition by March 16, 2026, by filling out the form available: HERE
It is also informed that there will be an Online Workshop “Applying for an FCT Doctoral Scholarship at Lab2PT: tips for a successful application”, which will take place on March 17, 2026, at 6.30 pm (Zoom).
The workshop will be coordinated by Lab2PT researcher Joana Isabel Ribeiro Sequeira.
NOTE:
The deadline of March 16, 2026, for completing the form, is primarily intended to identify candidates who wish to indicate Lab2PT as their host unit, so that they can be sent the link to participate in the online workshop.
After March 16, the form will remain open until the end of the FCT Doctoral Scholarship Competition – 2026 – March 31, 2026 – so that all candidates for the FCT doctoral scholarship who wish to indicate Lab2PT as their host unit can complete it and their applications can be validated by Lab2PT.
Lab2PT will not be selecting candidates. The form is simply for Lab2PT to be aware of which students are applying and to subsequently validate Lab2PT’s status as a host institution with the FCT.
